For a while I’ve been looking for the perfect plum lip colour on a budget (being the poor little student that I am!). So at the weekend I went on a mission searching through various make-up displays in Boots and Superdrug. There were some pretty colours, but none that really caught my attention. Until I saw the Estee Lauder stand…
One word. Gorgeous!
I saw this colour and fell in love! It’s not exactly what I had in mind, but I just couldn’t resist. The Estee Lauder Pure Colour Vivid Shine Lipstick in ‘Violet Electra‘ is a pink/purple with a beautiful shimmer.
Now, I know what you’re thinking – ‘Estee Lauder isn’t on a budget’ – and you’re right, it’s not normally. But if you have a Debenhams Beauty Club card you can use those points on any purchase. So what was meant to be £19.50 was only £9.50 for me! It was the last one is stock, so you may struggle to find this one, it’s very popular! If you’re struggling to find it, then I’d reccomend trying ‘Black Cassis’ which will be my next purchase!
So, is it worth buying?
Although the colour is absolutely gorgeous – it really does stand out – I found that it doesn’t last as long as other cheaper lipsticks. After eating a meal, the majority of it had come off – not great for one of the more expensive brands. Also, it has much more of a pink pigment than at first glance. So, maybe it’s not worth the price, but if you can get it discounted then go for it, you won’t be disappointed!
